You can simply stake it in place and save the cost of the tab kit.
It won't go anywhere after it's staked.

sounds like my fan pulley rattling away in there. i tabbed my dowel pin but found a bad bearing in the fan pulley!!! i guess you could say im tooo lazy to fix it...lol
KDP was still firlmy in the case . it was flush and not prtruding one bit!! 158k and still factopry, thats how i roll!!!:nutkick:

this is a very simple fix.... it took me about 1 hour in labor but i get side tracked when im in there....lol

Hey Ramdriver how did you end up doing it? I'm thinking my crank seal is leaking and it will need to be replaced so I will go ahead and tab it while I'm in there,that is as soon as the weather breaks and I can work in the driveway again.

i mad my own tab, thanks to a piece of metal snips and a random bracket that i pounded flat then cut to shape. I reused all me seals and permatex in place of the factory gasket. also because i am so easily side tracked i tried to repaint the timing cover but it didnt go as planned lol
i have pics of the mess and then of the tab but they are blury.

I have a CPFF KDP jig kit - that's the easiest way to do it...and the only way to do it without taking the gearcase cover off.
I've done about 10 trucks with the jig - like buttah.
