Hey there, you can build your own, if you come to the dyno day next weekend you can use mine as a template. Beware though, if you have Bilstien shocks it'll poke through the shield.
Anyway, an outtercover for the BHAF can be bought from www.outerwears.com. Do a search for BHAF and you'll find the covering. I'm using it for the last six months and really like it.
WRT BHAF, I think it is restrictive, but filters well.

i run a bhaf...no heat shield, no outer cover.... absolutely no difference in air flow between bhaf and stock filtration system...just turbo whistle, i actually like the stock system better since it fits better and doesnt rub my plow pump....AND one day i found that the bhaf slipped off the hose, so it was being run with no filter at all :97DodgeCTD: so i check it all the time now. but if you want an intake just buy a real one that actually fits, the cheap bhaf really does not good but make more whistle, which is fun though

the typical paper NAPA BHAF flows only 400cfm IIRC and isnt good around moistier. I run a AMSOIL 4510 good for 1000cfm.:m2c:
I herd the bhaf was good for about 650cfm?
PS Get your template here:

so i should keep my k&n drop in (which is a pian to clean) or go with a after market intake I was just told a bhaf was a cheap alternative to a in take and I can go to my local sanels to get one and the stainless is free thanks for the input

where is stainless free? I'll take some, please! lose the k&n, it's putting oil in your intake and not filtering too well either! Most studies have shown marginal difference in flow of a good filter in stock box vs. a BHAF type element unless a LOT of CFM is needed. But, all things equal, a better freer flowing filters benefits justify the expense and effort.:Sig73:

What are you guys running to adapt the BHAF to the stock intake tube? I have a piece of exhaust pipe in there that works good.

the bhaf needs no adapters its a plug and play type deal. should take all of 30 seconds to install.

I had to cut a couple "Reliefe cuts" on my tube to get it to fit other than that.....Hey while your making one heatshield, I'll slide some $$ if you'd knock one out for me
