Wondering if any of you 1st gen guys could tell me where you are finding good replacment parts. I was just given a 2wd 1st gen that I need an upper right control arm and the dealer wants almost $200 for it. Just the arm no bushings ball joints ect. Any good stored like lmc dedicated to the first gens?
Thanks

Evan, the only place most of us find parts is e-bay or a junkyard. It's tough finding new parts for a truck that's almost 20 years old. Even the parts houses don't wanna know nuthin'. I got lucky finding a donor truck in Connecticut, fairly nearby.
Good luck on parts. :HoleShotHolset:
Oh, get some pics up! :poke:

:professor: Just so you know, a Cummins truck is a 1st gen. If it has a gasser, it's just an '88 pickup. :exactly:
PS, don't bother with pics. :nutkick:

Damn I wish you asked one year ago...I had an 89 D250 hauled away.
(after Deo stripped lots of parts, but nothing from the front end)

haha about the pickup comment ohh well for the price im not gonna complain. To bad about the parts truck but for $125 for 2 new ones with ball joints its almost a waste to bother with a used one.

I forgot, I need the band/ clamp thingy that holds the swaybar to the strut. On the way back from Indiana last fall, I got this awful growling noise just as I got into NY state. 3 hours from home. I thought a wheel bearing was going.
Turns out the clamp rusted thru, and the swaybar was making it vibrate against the strut.
Man was I glad to see what was really wrong. I bent it apart, and finished my trip. :smokin:
So if anybody has 1 of those puppys, I'd appreciate a PM, call, or something!
