Hey everybody. I have been wanting some more aggressive meats and blacked out wheels since I got the truck and last week they came in to the tire store. As of now, the truck has 2 inch coil spacers, which will soon be replaced by some 2-2.5 inch skyjacker coils that are on order from TGC. Just did that because it's rubbing a bit on the driver side and as you can see in the pictures it sags about an inch or more to that side. So for 200 bucks I should have a level truck with less rubbing.
I only get rubbing at full lock and it's on the inner plastic flare. I recently redid the metal behind the flares so the small hump in the flare is what's making it rub, no metal to tire contact yet. Once I get the new coil springs in I plan on heating/flattening the inner fenders or just replacing them with something else. In any case, here she is as of now.

I think they make the truck look at lot beefier and better proportioned. Oh, they're Toyo Mud Terrains in the 37x13.5x17 inch variety mounted on some 17x9 inch revolver wheels.

Sorry, but they were sold and picked up yesterday, guess I should have waited and started a bidding war haha. I do have some 35in BFG TA/KOs that I need to get out of my garage is anyone wants them REAL cheap.
Thanks for the compliment on the truck, I want to scare small children with this rig :Moose: Actually, I love just rolling through town and watching all the little boys point at the truck and anyone else who hears it usually just stars with a :wtf2: face. hahaha so much fun.

17x9, the truck looks very aggressive with 37's. i didn't even know that you could put 37's on a truck with that small of a lift. :HoleShotHolset:

That's correct about rim size.
The truck that inspired me to try and stuff the 37s is a 1500 avalanche that this one guy owned and he fit 37s on it with 1.5 inches of lift, so basically just leveled the truck. It was orange with blacked out rockers, winch, looked friggin sweet. And I guess you can fit most any size tire once you bring out the torch and MIG :stirthepot:
Thanks for all the compliments about the truck guys. I want to make it up to derby sometime soon, but I'm working from 12-9 this friday again so I won't be able to get up there.... maybe next week though.
Well it's getting late so I'm out for the night.

wow 37's on a 1500 avalanche with only 1.5" lift is impresive, but when i get ready to buy my wheels and tires im not cutting anything, maybe a little trimming to stop the tires from rubbing but that would be it. same thing goes with whatever lift i choose, i want one that requires no cutting, a true bolt on lift, im thinking the 4.5" skyjacker will look real nice with 36's or 37's. hope to see you in derby in the next few weeks, or maybe at the goshen stampede thats coming up this sat,sun  :HoleShotHolset:

haha sorry, didn't get what ya were asking the first time around. They're 35x17 I believe. They're the BFG TA/KOs that come on H2s and what not. Thanks again for all the compliments, I'm trying to build this one up just the way I want it. Hopefully though I can get cracking on my pony car soon though because it's summer time and I want to get her cruising.
Changed my front and rear dif fluids.... and found it had been running on a bout a quart or so in each.... so that was pleasant smelling. Tranny fluid is next.... but I want one of these too :stirthepot: http://www.thepowershop.com/clutch/south-bend-clutch/12-1/4-clutch-kit-for-1989-2005-5-9-cummins-dodge-with-5speed/prod_16.html
and I still need to swap my coil springs bc when I went to do it today I noticed that I need new shock tower studs bc the spacer in there now has them incorporated into it.
THen I need to rebuild my vacuum pump which is leaking but I have the kit for that already.
And then get my veggie oil conversion installed and finished......
Hopefully get the first two done this wednesday that I have off from work.

It is really awesome the progress you've made. but, dude, what's up with the speedy dry under the truck in the first pic!! If you have leaks, find out what is going on (no insult intended, on an older truck it can be something is pretty wrong.. )

AH HA leaking Vac pump. do a search on ebay and look for the rebuild kit. I think the guy is "fixnrams.com". you'll get a kit, took me about 3 hrs to put in but i'm speacial... :falldownlaugh:
Also, becareful about doing the veggie oil conversion. I spoke with an oil distributor tonight and she said they (the law) are going to start checking for home brew, oil, veggie, etc. since it doesn't have tax paid on it, they want to bust you for it...
fixinrams is a great guy to deal with.

haha yep, actually got the fixinrams kit today and am going to put together hopefully this wednesday since I don't have work.
As far as the veggie....unless they dip my tank they have no reason to know what is in there, regular diesel or WVO. And as far as I know the local and state troopers can't/won't dip tanks. Maybe they can apply some more resources to solving our fuel problem instead of hunting down people who are trying out alternative solutions..... hmmmmm I hate this crap......
CTD- I'll try and stop by and grab some pictures tomorow, theyre currently in my grandmas garage but it's rght across town so I'll swing by and snap a few. And I don't think they'll fit those because I'm pretty sure they're 17s but I'll know for sure tomorow.

Sorry about no pics yet on the tires. Just haven't been able to get over to my grams to take care of that. I went to replace the seals in my vacuum pump today and found what I thought was a small crack on one of the mounting tabs....
Well actually first the damn oil line broke so I had to go and have one of those made.....
Then when installing the pump the tab indeed did crack and fall off.....
SO I had it tig welded back on.....
Now I have it all installed and I fire up the truck.....
And it starts pouring oil from the vacuum pump/PS area. I would say about 1/2 a quart in less than a minute...... Sweet
It's too late now and I'm too tired to deal with this crap now. I'll either order a new pump tomorow or try again with a kit but I am afraid the welding my have warped the part where it seals everything..... We'll see, I've been talking with Doug at fixinrams.com He's a great guy so far.

Ok all. Sorry about the delay I work the late shift tomrow so I can grab some pictures tomrow morning before work.
Apparently on the vacuum pump the black seal between the PS and the Vac pump cannot be installed with any grease or it will pop out during installation and purge oil everywhere :nutkick:
So I rebuilt the pump again and installed the seal properly this time. end of the story is it still leaks but I think only from the oil feed line. So tomroow I'm going to grab some engine cleaner and clean the hell out of the pump so I can pinpoint the leak, then either fix it or buy another seal kit.
FIXinrams.com has been AWESOME in helping me out with parts and information. Really great guy to deal with :woohoo:

any news with the skyjacker dt25 coil springs yet? sucks to hear about your oil leak, i had a pretty bad oil leak, but it was caused by me and fixed by me....note to self 2 bolts holding the afc housing cover on will cause a huge oil leak, :97DodgeCTD: 3 bolts keeps everything in.

Well, I got one skyjacker coil in this morning before work. And I'm running the noon til 8 shift tomorow so I'll try and get the other one in before I head down there.
About the oil leak, the big problem is coming from the oil line where it meets the block. So I'll play with it tomorow and if that fails I'll order a new one on monday.
I'll update more with pics of the tires tomrow, just too tired to upload em now.

BTW John, the centercap came in today so I'll get it to you asap

Hey all. I may be able to fix the hydraulic line problem.... net sure yet..... Anyone know what the second nut on the line does in between the crimp fitting and the coupler? That's where it's leaking anyways.
Ok I got the other coil in today, so far the lean is still there.....WTF so I'll drive around a bit and if it doesn't go away I'll swap my leafs next summer because I'm planning to flatbed the truck then anyways.
I grabbed some pictures of the tires but only one picture is working so I'll get the closeups as soon as the computer will let me. I got these with my truck and was going to use them as spares, but if you want to run em for the summer and see how you like 35s I think they would make a good tire. Honestly, I've never mounted them or anything so I can't say too much about them. What you see is what you get. First hundred bucks takes em CTD735 has dibs though if he wants them.

i believe that 2nd nut is just there so you can hold it with another wrench so the line dosen't spin when you tighten it.

Correct you are sir. I ended up just spinning it a little anyways and it stopped the drip :woohoo:
I had to reuse my vac pump seals though so they are weeping :nutkick:
I'll just end up ordering some new ones on monday and throwing them in whenever they get here.
I got the other coil in and went for a ride and it's a mighty fine improvement if I do say so.
Pictures still not working but I'll try again after work, but I have a side job that's running from 945 till midnight tonight so we'll see if I have time.
