My stock turbo has not been feeling well most of the summer. I had wanted to do the SD conversion and run a Garrett BB turbo. But have heard some good things about the modified stocker from BDP. This one popped up over on PSN with only 300 miles so I pounced on it. Even came with a deleted ebp pedestal. I gave the cast iron parts 2 coats of POR high temp velvet black to help keep the rust at bay.

I got it installed this afternoon. Took about 4 hrs start to finish with about 40 min of that looking for a bolt that ended up falling on top of the trans... Everything went back together with no issues. Started up - no leaks - so went for a little drive. Wow what a difference! When trans shifted into OD and converter locked up I was thrown back into the seat as boost quickly topped 30 lbs and truck rocketed past 70 - and this was with my stock tune! I've less lag with my tow tunes at the bottom end and extreme still blocks out the sun with a boiling black cloud but my egt's are a bit lower.

Sending my chip back to Tony for new updated tunes. Now I have to get down to BTS before I blow the trans up.

For the OBS and early 99 guys you might want to consider trying this turbo. It's a direct drop in and I was very surprised at just how much better it is over stock.

I tried one on my truck and it lasted maybe an hour or so until it grenaded.Just becareful on how much you beat it,It still has the stock center section in it and thats the weak link.

By all means its a good turbo ,just some of them come apart when beating them hard with bigger injectors
