installed bosch stage 2 injectors. they are equal to the marine 370s, and i noticed that the truck is popping very loudly now. It only popps when driving at cruising speed about 1800 rpms. Almost sounds like a misfire, but doesnt feel like one...

Hey Ramdriver,
I did mine today and I used two .020 per injecter and with 16* timing these injecters Rock!! Of corse this my first time changing injecters but I can tell you I love them!
Ralph, a little late now, but one .020 washer is ideal for those injectors. Any more and it will put the spray pattern out of the piston bowl:duh:
Ramdriver have you figured anything out about that popping, does it go right away when you give it more fuel?

when the popping starts it stays there but will get tighter as trhe engine spins up... kinda reminds me of the way the puylling trtucks spools, but also maskes me think its a mis fire, but all the line are bleed. If you crack thge m at the DVs they spray fuel and the same at the injector...
if i slowly rise the rpms in neutral untill i hit the govenor, they do not mis a lick!
Still these injectors do kick some severe ass.:nutkick:

Hmm,
I not liking that answer Jim I was told by a couple of differant people that two .020 washers was the way to go??Do you think it will be ok to run it like this??I can tell you that the truck runs Great! I'm real pleased with the results..
I have never heard of anyone running stacked washers, do you have a link to a thread?

They can't be spraying all in the bowl sitting that high up.

My Bad apparently I missunderstood what he was trying to tell me and used two,I guess when I have some time I will be pulling the injecters again,I wish I new. Is this a critical thing Jim? I might not have the time for a while to do it and I was wondering what could happen if I don't do it right away?Man the truck runs so dam good to....

If it is spraying way out of the bowl and directly on the cylinder walls it could damage them.
What matt said ^^^ If you were worried about cyl. wall wash before, this will contribute to it alot more them with 1 washer.
Heck, just more experience for ya.:beerchug:

Jim,
In your opinion is this going to be somthing that has to be done? Will have big problems rite away? Or can I do it when I have the time? I will not be able to do it for at least two weeks and I sure don't want to damage my truck.
I dont think it will hurt anything in the short term. your just not getting the fuel into the piston bowl as much as you could be.

Thanks Jim,
I think it will be much easier than the last time I won't have to deal wiith the rust and corrosion this time.Where can I get an injecter puller?
use a lug nut off your truck, screw it down on 2 injector hold down nuts stacked on top of each other, it will pull them right out of the head

I'll give that a try I used the lug nut with a small pry bar it worked but it took some doing they were very rusted. I still can't believe that taking one of those washers out is going to make much differance heck the guy that sold them to me said that I could just put them in with the washer it came with??Anyway I'm here to learn next time I will have to pay a bit more attention! Hell thats what happens when you try to do three things at a time LOL!!

i noticed that the truck is popping very loudly now. ...
Dirr It's because of the Higher POP-Off pressures  :dunno: :falldownlaugh:
Hmmm SPS and a set of 370 "Style" injectors sure ain't gonna help the head gasket anyways. Keep it under 1300* (can be Warmer but only BREIFLY) egts and UNDER 50Lbs of boost and you should be O.K for a while.
