only check out mass diesel if you like having to drive back many times and don't need your truck for 4-6 months
where does your friend live? If he lives near manchester area let me know, cause i have a guy that will put a built tranny in your truck in a week from the day you drop it off in most cases sometimes it takes a week and a half.

his tranny broke because, no one told him to shift into nuetral before going to D i would think a the guy who you just dropped over 8000 cash off to would tell you a few things about your new transmission. and that cracked the overdrive housing. and then him having the truck for 4months and not saying anything. isn't right in my opinion. he can build a hell of tranny it just takes a long time to get it.

I have no idea where you heard that from or if your even talking about the same guy as me. because im talking about shawn o'hara and he drove over 60 miles with his 08 f-450 and trailer and picked my truck up from house and called me along the way. This guy can do anything you want, yes he pulls the tranny. he can fabricate anything you need. did i mention his kids wagon has a 4 link suspenstion setup.

Do you really know what happened? I don't think so. Stop with your generalizations and speculations. If your brother drove it like an azz don't blame others.

Ryan,
First off four months his truck was here lets see because I have all dates in computer and we can run them down.
1)Jared called asked for estimate on 6-30-08 email sent have documantion thru our quickbooks server on all bills and dates emailed if need.
2)7-15-08 Called back to place ordered and give deposit and was told parts would be ordered and would be called when they arrived from DTT to make appointment possibly 2-4 weeks depending on how busy they were Jared asked if truck could be towed up and told not point to til parts are on their way.I have no control over their sending of parts unless he wanted to pay extra for them to speed up and overnight products and he said NO.
3)8-13-08 Jared was called by the Julliette and told parts will be here mid week of the 18th .The next opening to do the trans was on the 25th of the month and could get it on the 27th-28th.Truck was towed in on 21st and he was told it would not be touched after the 21st as I was getting married on the 23rd and would be leaving early on the 22nd to take care of a few things.
4)8-28-08 Was contacted late afternoon for completion and truck to be picked up HE STATED I cant come til fri as I dont have a ride to get it til then because of work.In which we showed him and explained what to do for the first 100 mile break and and it would need to be serviced. He could do it himself or come back and wait for it which he made the choice to do.

5) 9-15-08 1000k mile service done
6) 10-11 Called and said trans had issue was told to bring it in ASAP and would look at it for him was towed in on 10-12-08 I left on 12th for MIR in MD for world finals and wouldnt be back til mon the 15th. When I got home disassembled trans and called him on the 15th and never got a call back til the 17th .Explaining to him that he had ripped the back of the trans case apart and he admitted being stuck then quick change of story when i asked so you were going from reverse to drive when you were stuck in 4wd he said no i was in 4wd going fwd.Well the broken parts dont like and he was shown the parts and pics taken So he was charged for a case and damaged parts no labor as it was not covered under DTT warranty.
7)Truck was picked up on 10-24 and he was shown the parts and explained what happened and why and you were here in my shop with him!!!!!!!
So below you will see pic attached of what was done if you want more let me know!!!!!!!

I've always had a great experience with Massdiesel. I originally found them when I had my truck apart from the front-end. they did a great job. I've since had several jobs done by Massdiesel and it's been great. I've found that if I've had a issue, Scott has been very responsive to get it taken care of. Class A service all the way!

I too would like to hear about the whole Neutral thing... Does this apply to 48re's too? What about if you have a valve body that circulates fluid in park, even then?
Thanks

from what i have been told thru the grapevine you want to hit N before D to R something having to due with high line pressure. :dunno:
and Scott this is what was going on right before the transmission broke, my brother was stopped D on a closed road engaging his 4wd so he could do a boosted launch to race a 1990 mustang. as soon as he tried to engage 4wd several of my friends and I all heard a loud noise, and his truck would not move in D so i told him disengage 4wd and try 1st or R what do you know they both work no noises. so he drove a mile home in 1st gear. and called a tow truck had the truck up there whatever day you say it was. whether he was hitting N before D and R idk but the only R,D,R,D would be him turning around, he was never stuck.

no standard transmissions are for towing, thats why my dads turtle has a 5spd in it, because back in april of 2000 when he was at columbia ford he was look for a cummins with a 5spd behind to tow his equipment with. and when he bought his truck his original clutch lasted over 120,000miles, but the truck was stock too. I do almost no towing, my brother does even less towing. I bought my truck because i knew 12v's could make good power and go fast for little money. my brother bought his for the same reason.
