leave it to me...
the long story short, I picked up a 4r100 for $700 and expected to swap it out for my zf6. well...
ford doesn't make the underhood harness for my truck anymore, so tracking one down is nearly impossible. ends up that i'll have to run a PCS. +$850
the trans had to be rebuilt anyways, but i didn't know how bad it really was. i bought it knowing it had been in water, and shifting was 'eh' with it. assuming it wasn't able to build pressure to shift because of the water.
my transmission guy (Champion in West Haven) found some chips in the pan, and not from the trans itself, so it had to come from the TC. wonderful. NOW, i'm looking at another $1900 to rebuild the trans, added tailshaft to convert it from the 4wd to 2wd, all new clutches and seals, including a shift kit and a new low stall billet TC.
now I'm upwards of $3250 to swap out the trans... :wtf2:
