Wondering if anyone was interested in helping me work on my 94 diesel for a day. The parts are adding up and would like some help installing the parts as I am new to the diesel world. Looking to do some general maintance, install #6 fuel plate, 3000 gsk, pyro guage, trans temp quage, and a boost guage. Lastly I am looking to bump the timing up a little. As I think it might be the reason for bad fuel consumption. I am pulling like 12-13 mpg
Willing to compensate for ones time with food and $ just looking for some experiance/ expertise.

You should come visit us down here in CT one Friday nite. We could do all that stuff (except the gauges) in 3 hours or so. Plus you'd get to meet some of us knuckleheads.

were abouts in CT are you guys? I think the guages are the easier of the thing that I need to go and could handle them myself.

Think I might have found some help closer to. If I ever come down that way id like to stop in and say HI to fellow members though.

I am actually hoping to go to the dyno day in May as long as nothing comes up. I would like to get some HP numbers for my truck if possible that weekend.

Evan, a #6 plate, timing and a GSK will slip your auto trans in short order. You better do something with it before adding that kind of power. If you dont,it will slip and you will ruin it quickly, the more you baby it,the more you will slip it.

A new trans is in the works. Trying to figure out if I want to go with a built auto or do the 5spd swap. Leaning towards the built auto cause it should be relitivly simple to just swap trans. Since this is my daily driver I cant afford for it to be down for a week while I do the swap. Figure I can buy a trans built and in a night or two just swap them over.

The "first" time I did my tranmission swap in my garage. It took me all day saturday and half the day sunday to get it done. Its not that bad of a job if you know what you are doing, which I didn't.

Wow got the parts installed tonight. All I can say is wow what a differance best money I have spent on the truck. Never thought it would wake the truck up as much as it did. Thanks again to scooter for helping me out with the install made it alot easier having someone who knew what they were doing.

You've officially been bitten by the bug:nutkick: . Now you'll be spending money on the truck like a crack addict does on his habit.:falldownlaugh:

youll want to see Scott at mass diesel soon, no doubt.
Thats the best bucks Ive spent on this truck, doing the transmission over so I wont have to worry about replacing parts every two years. :exactly:
Gauges are real important too.

tranny is definitly going to be soon. Haha it does some funky stuff with all the new power. There is just nothing like it when its on the highway and you roll into it with the torque converter locked. Seems like all of a sudden everything is just screaming by you. I definitly think I cought the little civic boy by surprise when I took him coming out of hampton tolls today :beerchug: Nothing like being beated by a truck that weighs 3 times what you car does.
I love it

try the newington tollbooth during morning rush hour...even the old grandmas are racing.

(i think bob marley's traffic skit sums it up pretty well)

i've got friends with nice, respectable imports, but civics are :41031:

btw, how's the soot?
