I'll definitely be up for the truck day but I doubt for any of the other stuff, Hopefully this time I'll actually run my truck instead of leaving it in the parking lot.
If anything I will make it up to at least see all the big rigs showin off

Thats gotta be asking for trouble :smilielol:
I did see a big Ford (crew cab long bed with like 8" lift over 38's) at Englishtown that had full red/white strobes all around as well as siren AND train horns lol
Sometimes it seems like it would be nice to be a firefighter or volunteer at the least just to be able to use all the strobes and horns and all lol

Well - It look like I am going. Anyone from here still going that wants to caravan or needs a ride? Rain is in the forecast for Sat night into Sun morn, but it's only 10% chance on Sunday, so I'm assuming it'll still happen (maybe just delayed). Did anyone hear any different? This will be my first time to something like this - looking forward to it.
Poll: Race a stock truck in 2wd (bars are cranked and I don't want to play with em for a stock run) or just enjoy the show? Leaning toward paying to race to get in the pits and meet some folks/watch the races, but not race. Is that even possible?
Warpig
09-30-2009, 01:21 PM
Last time I was up there they had test and tune (run all day for fun) or bracket racing (dial in your number and run as close to your number as you can, person who ran closer without going over the winner). If you do bracket racing and get eliminated you can go and run test and tune as long as you like. Bracket racing is still fun with a stock truck, especially when you eliminate the serious racers.

You dont need to pay extra to get in the pits.. Also just race it, bracket racing isnt about going fast its about consistancy and cutting lights, if your not into that just test and tune all day. Hopefully the rain will hold of sunday for us

New England Dragway typically does whatever they have to get the event in. Im not sure what year it was but they got the vac truck out and worked the track the whole morning. Time trials were delayed a couple hours but it all worked out in the end.
They may drag the track with the tires to add a little rubber but it will still be slick..Low air pressures and 4x4. Stock trucks will still spin the wheels half way down the track.

Ya I think that its only on street nights that it happens like this cuz ive been up and parked in the pits many times on wed/fri nights. I think on major event days that normal parking area is full of racers, and you cant even drive in unless your in the show or racing.. and I'm no where near racing condition. Id leake fluid all over the place and cause a one hour cleaning thing.. :poke:

10-03-2009, 09:51 AM
You can park in the pits even if you don't race or show however, you have to pay the fee to race or show to get back there. Otherwise you can park in the lot and pay the spectator price. Half the time it ends up being a whole other show in the lot just from all the trucks that park out there! I'll be there but as a spectator.

truck needs more fuel and some t/c changes- exhaust is clear right away

the black dodge is "slightly stupid" its got fuel as we can see and has a huge single but not being able to light it on the line is slightly hindering his performance, thats my buddy ryan from cape cod diesel. i don't think he really thought his charger would work very good, especially not being able to spool the turbo.

19 passes......lol :HoleShotHolset: I got two :falldownlaugh: I wish I could launch at 20 psi!!!! I launched at 15 and I spun 5k halfway down the track and blew up :smilielol: I wonder what I'll break when I get tires that can handle a 15 or 20 psi launch :dunno:
It might be better for the truck haha dont blame it for not likin 5k rpms. Bet if you get tires that can take that kinda launch you would be sub 11 second 1/4 mile. You did a soft launch and ran 11.4 shave a tenth off your 60' and youd be in 10 second territory. You having any thoughts of putting a cage in it???

Ya, that launch was around 10psi. I guess I have to install a cage if I wanna run without getting kicked off (kinda nice to be talkin like this...lol). I kind of like Ryan's (01cumminsport) Khumo tires. 285/60/18 (12" wide!). Just wish I knew how they hooked up on a high hp truck.

I had no traction issues even @ 20 psi- the truck has always left alittle soft- NEVER under a 1.95 - 60'
I'll put smaller tires on it and not run with a fulll tank of fuel and we should easily cut off the time.
cumminssport- even when the turbo lit you were never clear- I would use that big single and add a small one on top of it.

TQ management is prolly part of the issue, and getting the charger lit is obviously a problem. But a smaller top with a bigger bottom will lite faster AND pull harder than what hes running now. A BDRAD will fix the other issue.
IDK what his exact set up is, and he can prolly do alot better w/practice and tuning. We've all been there!:exactly:

My thoughts exactly- small turbo with external waste gate!!! That truck will rock.
That truck is wasting more fuel running down the track then if someone just kicked over an open fuel can.:falldownlaugh:

Any piston damage?? Could have been alot worse You gonna fix it or look for a new head?
Warpig

Head is at the machine shop. I'll know if the head is good tomorrow after they flux it. As far as the seats go, that should not have ruined the head. #1 piston and #6 piston have some minute damage from the seats. I also could see where some valves had hit the piston tops on a couple, they left very slight impressions.

in firefox.. find whatever pic you want, right click on it and click "copy image location". then when you're replying in this forum click the picture button above that says "Insert Image" when hovering over it. paste the link into the image box.
or the basic (html) way...
http://www.actionracingphotos.com/photos/2009/100409NEDTRUCKDAY/images/1004DML_8368.jpg is the image location, but add [/IMG] at the end and [IMG] before it and you're set to go.

Tim I went and talked to him for you. He said he would consider it if ya paid him ( Only fair) I relayed that messgae to you, you could have gone and talked to him to persue it further. By the time I talked to him and got back to you triple A was just about on its way. So unless you went and talked to him further (I never saw you talk to him) I wouldnt go saying that crap. You do realize that it would have been a 6+ hour drive for one of us to bring you back to CT. I think you made it pretty good to get back to CT with only a 30-40 mile tow would have cost you more for any of us to get ya back to your shop. So :wtf2: right back at ya and I have yet to have a bad dealing with Ben as alot of us have, he is a stand up guy with a good local diesel shop.

I find this very interesting. What was said to Evan was that I would be willing to take your truck anywhere you wanted, I just wouldnt do it for free. You never even came to talk to me. BTW All I would have wanted was for you to pay my expenses (fuel tolls etc). But you would have never known that since you never even came over, instead sent someone else.
Sorry you feel this way, but you were never wronged by me. And yes I am probably one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and would do anything for a freind/aquaintance, all you have to do is talk to me.:nutkick:

Sorry your truck broke and you got socked with a towing bill I tried to help find a tow home you just had to take the next step in setting it up. Good luck getting it back on the road and sorry you feel wronged about what happened
I think both sides have had their say :eek:If you guys would like to discuss further please take to PM's!
