Installed a set of ddp highflows today. the 131s were killing me. Didnt notice too much more power/smoke. I know i need to order a rack plug. should i loosen the afc too/ its still stock-> turbo did spool 10 times faster today though.
Also the idle is goingcrazy on me. it hangs up slightly around 1700, but also seems as though you slowly release clutch till the truck stalls. So in short the truck wont idle, but when it does it idles at 750....

That's kinda wierd, I don't see a turbo listed in your sig? I installed the same delivery valves but I had 181s before and saw noticeable gains in power, my boost went up a solid 6psi. Sounds like you need more air

I can tell ya my DDP DV's flowed alot more than my 131's i had in my 215 pump for awhile, Dont think i ever ran without twins though. However my pump never hung on 1700 rpms could never get the pump to idle right (sometimes it would idle 750 rpm but others not at all usually once it got hot) but I think my pump was messed sounds like yours could use a rebuild too?????
I know mine will get a once over before it goes back on a motor even if it is a trailer Queen. Worried ill have a run away ...

Do any of you ppump guys run a mechanical fuel shut-off valve in case of run-a-way? I know pullers/racers use a guillotine in the intake.:poke:

ah yes its called the shut off solenoid, lol..... actually the shutoff solenoid controls a valve in the pump to turn off fuel. usually a runaway is caused by a secondary fuel source which feeds enough fuel to cause the rpm to keep increasing.

Thats what I'm saying, an inline fuel shut-off, so no matter what sticks/breaks fuel can be completely cut.

Sometimes a runaway isn't running on diesel fuel, it's running on engine oil. Or tranny fluid. That can't be shut off. It just runs until there's no more of whatever it's burning is available. That's why people use the guillotine on the air intake. Gotta have fuel and air to run. Might not be able to shut fuel off, but you can shut off the air, assuming no leaks after the guillotine.

How can tranny fluid get into the combustion chamber????

on some engines trans fluid can be pulled by vacuum from a bad diaphram in the transmission.

Same as oil being pulled into the turbo by a blown seal, or a bad nitrous solenoid leak.

I know about the oil :97DodgeCTD: Just wondering how tranny fluid would get into the combustion chamber or fuel system with a blown tranny seal.

blown head gasket, heat exchanger leak......:stirthepot::falldownlaugh:

Ive heard of it on older gas cars but never on one of these trucks.
no trans fluid is possible in the intake, just engine oil.
