Nice looking dohickey. only $40 Figure Id try one. It goes inline where the heater hoses go into the heater core.

Interesting idea, but is something like that really needed? The cooling system should have a 50-50 mix of anti-freeze and water, which also protects against rust, so I'm not sure that you would need something like that unless you ran straight water at some point.
Have you bought one? If so, anything to report yet?

While Crow does not fit my taste and I hate to admit when I bought into a product that sucks, I figure I could save a fellow TDR member some time on the side of the road by giving him the advice to keep an extra 2' of 5/8 heater line in his truck, with some coolant if he/she plans to run this filter.
I had it off 2 times to clean it, last time was approx. 500 miles ago since then a trip to NH and back, various trips to work/jobsites, etc and without notice she let go on me draining my radiator on the highway. Its only split in one spot, dont know why it did, but needless to say its off my truck now, and will most likely look for a more HD setup then the above mentioned.
Hope you guys have better luck then me with this jobber.:o

They make fuel filters like that for gassers. If you overtighten them, they break. No need to ask how I know...:Paully6:

What is the clear part made of, plastic? Also, you said you had to clean it a couple of times, did it get clogged?
its glass, about 1/8 thick. I took it apart to clean it because it got considerably plugged with debris. Thing cracked out of nowhere left me broke down:Signal73:

Well, I guess a good idea isn't always a good idea. I'm sticking to the "old school" way - flushing every couple of years.
Thanks for the info.
dieselsite.com is in the process of completing a kit for the 12V crowd, This one will be HD like the big rigs run. They already have one out for the 24V I believe its on there site somewheres, www.dieselsite.com
found it here:

I know this is a OLD thread, but if you want a good coolant filter, NAPA has a kit for about $60. Kit number is 4019. Replacement filters are easy to get too.
