Anyone have a ball park idea what it would cost in labor to swap gears in my truck? Thinking of ditching the 4.10 and going 3.55 I have a matching set of axles that I can rob the gears out of just would need them to be installed/ setup in my truck. Also the 3.55's I have is an open carrier could my LSD from my 4.10 be used with the 3.55's??

pull the carrier swap ring gears, get and install kit and change the pinion. Now you can use some marking compound and set pinion depth. w/0 changing the carier or beaings you cn get away with using the olshims and such....

I think the carriers are different. IDK if this helps you get a ballpark at all but a friend of mine had a Detroit installed on his truck a while ago and it cost about $1000 for parts and labor, and I'm assuming a Detroit costs about $400.
