No effin way. I can't believe someone thought this was a good idea for drivers to be reaching through the steering wheel to operate one of the sticks. As we say in the software industry - SHIP IT!

Now I understand the :smokin: :woohoo: factor of having something like that, but who in their right mind would want to spend all freaking day shifting, esp. the 2-hand shifts, like :wtf2: lol.

you didn't have a choice back then...NO air shifters and no Maxi brakes
you had this thing called a "WIG-WAG" THAT was at the top of the windshield inside... when it dropped down ,that meant KISS YOUR BUTT G-BYE cause your air (for brakes ) RAN OUT !...
I was still driving a tri-plex (15 speed)mack in 2000 Plowin snow for the state of mass...

I drove a tri-plex many years ago hauling landscape materials. I got to enjoy it. After driving it all day I'd get in my '83 corolla (5-spd) - let me tell you, that was harder to drive - reaching for things that weren't there, pounding the brake and clutch pedal thru the firewall, etc. :falldownlaugh:
kinda like gettin in a gasser and waiting for the wait to start light to go out:smilielol:

Ya, that's a definite gotcha, Or cranking the starter again 'cause you don't hear anything running... :smilielol:
