DDRA Anyone ever hear of them?

Anyrate they are out of Cheshire, CT :dunno: and they are having an event on Sat. Aug. 11, 2007. We may have a need to go up there. I'll see if I can turn up more info.

I used to have a picture of this truck, if I remember correct, it was a V6 diesel. At least his original trucl was. His Name is Doug he lives about 3 miles from me. When we were younger and used to street race, we would knock onthe windows of his house all hours of the night to get our nitrous bottles filled...ahhhhh good times

Jeez, I can't believe you guys didn't have the industrial medical sized bottle like we did at my buddy's shop! I used to fill the tank for my bike there! :smokin: Yup! Good times!

There's Doug Doring and Doug Sotira (sp?) - both are the two most famous DDRA members.

Doug Doring's truck went 9.40's (@140mph?) in the 1320 and uses a 2-stroke, twin turbo (not compound), Detroit Diesel 6V-53.

Doug Sotira also uses a 6V-53 and goes low 11's and possibly 10's. Deo Read (therabbittree) owns one of the Doug's (Doring or Sotira...I dunno - it's hard to keep track of them!) old drag truck and used to own Doug Sotira's 800hp 6V-53 which he bought and sold for a song and I NEVER let him forget it. Poor guy. We've all been in that situation, though - hindsight is better than 20/20.

Yes Yes the DDRA has been around for a LONG Time.. ..Doug Doring is from Chesire and used to own CT Diesel. He builds a lot of the high power detroit engines for drag trucks and pullers. His new ride is a t altered with his all aluminum 6v53 in it.

and i hope to put one of my 6v53's in it soon..soon as in this upcoming winter ha... And YES HOLESHOT ..does remind me about my sales issues.. hahaha.. I am gonna miss that race in Lebanon too WHICH REALLY SUCKS!!!.. its the same day we start own family vacation in Nags Head..oh well..It should be fun ....if you've never seen his trucks run or a 6v53 thats close to 1000 hp ..

it is awesome..completely makes you want to have one!!! the idel and sound is awesome!!!... I hope to run mine on the street and I have aquired a real Jake set for it too heheeh..
