My 02 has got a "slack spot" in the steering when on the highway when turning to the right. The ball joints have never been done I notice the rt front axel seal is wet. The front end does have a thuren track bar and steering stabilizer. I do have a heated garage but would prefer to take the rig to a reputable shop . Unless there is a member out there that wants to assist. and make some cash? At 102,000 miles is it time for a complete change of u joints ball joint etc? Maybe y to T steering?
Thanks Jon

Aditional info; Had the wife turn the wheel The ball joint on the track bar hooked to the frame is shifting up and down with a slight shutter when the wheel is turned. There is 60,000 miles on the track bar. It needs fixin.

Start with that track bar, I'd bet it would cure it. But at that kind of mileage I would suspect your ball joints to be iffy as well. Clunking at bumps and railroad tracks is a sure sign of the ball joints being bad. I'd help you if you weren't so far away. :97DodgeCTD:

I talked to Don told him I had some up and down movement in the ball joint of the track bar. He told me to tighten the bolt some more(with a breaker bar and pipe) I did that no luck. My track bar was moving up and down 1/16"(the ball in the end housing). (I feel that was causing my slack spot in the steering) I took the track bar out tonight, had to cut the bolt between the frame and the bar as that bolt will not come through the ball joint hardware,
and it still wont!

Don will rebuild the bar for 80.00 I gotta ship the bar to ca with a check. I dont have a problem with that. As we all know the roads in Maine are most likely the worst in the country and they beat the day lights out of the front ends. For starters any opinions on rebuilding this bar or should I order a 3rd gen conversion kit.
Thanks
