on my motor (on the left side if your looking at it)ther is some sort of round cylinder with lines coming out of it i belive it is a transmission/engine heat exchanger but im probally wrong do i need it.

if you are making a manual conversion, it is not needed. i have one still on my truck because i didnt feel like fighting with it...

just helps the tranny warm up quicker and keep it cooler

mine will be automatic i am going to be running a big trans cooler mounted up front.

if you have a big enough cooler up front i assume you wil be fine. As long as you have a system to monitor your trans temp gauge....
