How legit do you think it would be if I sold my truck (no real money involved just title in his name) to a bud up in NH and gave him the $$$ to pay for sales tax, registration and insurance then had me put on the list of drivers? As long as the owner lives in that state they shouldnt have a problem right?
Im seriously thinking I dont want to give MA any of my money any more and I see the inspections process is going to get pretty crazy in a few years.

Yeah, they do... It's chappin' me pretty soon... :smilielol: Luckily, according to the state, my truck is only worth like 1500.00. :beerchug: I don't know how they figured that one out, 'cause kbb tells me like 13k and i bought it 2 years ago for like 14k. I'm not saying ANYTHING.................

Kawi, I think you can do what you've described here, but you'll have to be on the insurance too. So, with that said, you'd have to establish an address in NH to do that, right? So, what you are proposing is to have the truck owned, registered and insured in NH under your buddies name, then add you as a driver? He's a nice guy. What if he drops you from insurance? Weird things can happen and you never know- he could end up owning your truck and it would be legit, he'd have all the paperwork...

How much money will you save anyway?

hmmm, maybe so. But, in my book it is mandatory. Last thing I need is some whellfair nut claiming that my truck and me "did them harm" and sue for everything I have... I'd only run without insurance if I had nothing to to loose, and I mean nothing.....

It drops pretty fast, though, well not fast enough. For some reason, my 95 went down to ~$35 the last few years I had it, but no lower. I think my 05 was over $400 the first year.

What really "chapped my arse" was the DMV doesn't "recognize" cash incentives. If you bought a car for $20K and it had a $2K rebate, you'd pay $18K for the car, but pay sales tax (5%) on the full $20K. Since most vehicles have incentives, well American vehicles, alot of people are getting :yankyank:

Kawi, as far as what you have in mind, I agree with Nomad. Too many what-if's could happen and you could kick yourself later on.
