Wish I could be there for it, looking like some great weather. Stuck in Hartford still till at least the end of the month. I will definitely be there when I get back to the homeland though.

Haha - it's good, but nothing special. If all goes well: maintenance, dpf and cat delete, EFI with DSP 5 switch, egr block and pcv re-route.:smokin:
I had someone wanting to buy my stock turbo, so I was going to install a Danville modded 2.6 turbo too, but that sale fell through. Still considering the turbo for lower egts and mileage when DD and towing - while having more power and little smoke when I'm ready for fun. Have to sell some stuff to pay for it (and the installation). LMMs are a bitch to do a turbo swap so I've heard.:dunno: This turbo will make a great starting point for my twins in a year or two.
I have an EGR delete kit coming as well, but won't be here in time, so we'll put that in when we do the turbo.
Wanted to go with wider tires, but unless I want to buy rims with a larger offset, it'll be a rubbing issue on the a-arms and possibly sway bar so put that on hold too. Tires are good enough for now and rather get a turbo.

Thats a solid start for sure Bill. Should be nice all opened up. I think mine is gonna get an EGR delete real soon since I need to do my oil cooler, mineswell get both at once since it will be nearly the same labor. Just trying again to figure out which kit to go with and maybe getting a second intake manifold just incase I want to revert it back.

Unlikely I'll be there if I get out of work late. Wife's working late so I'd have to take the little guy with me and that would make it a long day for him.
The 2nd show is looking more realistic for me. Bill will have his truck back.....Josh might be done in CT.....Ramdriver might be home by then, too.
Josh, would you post something on the Ford sites so we can get a big truck turnout on the 20th? Maybe we can top the 6 or 7 trucks we had last July.
Oh, nevermind. You've brought them all over here, so they'll see this thread. :smilielol:

sounds like a good plan, maybe John can come back for some good mosquito control if the statey's allow.
haha, I make sure to tell em all about the site, but not all of them have joined up over here. I'll see if I can spread the word about getting some people to show up.

Second show does sound like a better chance of a good showing. I'll also have my truck back from the body shop by then. Amp steps are on/debadged and demolded/detailed/may remove the chrome grill overlay (not sure though - kind like the gaudy look lol). Need new center caps or to paint em black. Chrome came off over the winter and they look kinda crappy.
I agree Josh - might as well do it all at once!:HoleShotHolset:

I used to love the chrome look but this color match stuff is somewhat growing on me in parts, but still not fully. I think your truck would look good either way though, blacked out, or with some tasteful contrast. Definitely sucks trying to keep the shiny stuff shiny though.
We'll get ya out on the track one of these days lol, least for a pass or two, I'll go against ya so at least it makes ya look good :smilielol:
Yea hopefully get it all done at once and be good for a little while.

I won't be there for this first show but there is a chance I can make it for the one on the 20th.
I usually get down there around 6pm or so. Some of the cars get there as early as 3pm and usually cars there till at least 9pm if the weather is nice.

Hey bill, I did the pcv 4" turbo back egr block and an LBZ MP noticed about 200 degrees less egts pullin the 5er, so your mods should make a nice difference. who did you get the efi from.
Pondsy
05-05-2010, 09:59 PM
I purchased efi from McRat when I had the 06LLY. I have Rob Coddins doing the DSP5 on the LMM because he will do the twins when I get there. He also is good with NO smoke tunes which is exactly what I want. With a DPF truck, the less attention I draw to emissions, the better lol.

I was hesitant about going because of the earlier weather and being the first night, etc. I only live about 5 miles away so what the hell? Patti and I went and couldn't believe it - nearly 800 cars/trucks (my estimate) showed up. The Bass Main lot was full and 3/4's of the front lot next to Route 1 was full! The club also started reserving rows for certain types of cars (ie: Mustangs only, Corvettes only, MoPars only...) It was nicely set up and well organized. Tons of street rods, lots of custom trucks and several 4X4 rigs too. I think it's going to be a great year for this! :smokin:

Yea thanks Bill. That's pretty much how I feel about it, for a motor that has a reputation of blowing gaskets stock and other junk I suppose this one is faiirly good, 20k of running a race file with oversized tires and junk.
Scott seems to think its just the egr cooler, but he hasn't looked at it yet. If it gets studded and deleted it should be good for a long while, least I hope.

blowing white smoke? get any puddles of coolant/soot under the truck leaking from the exhaust? good signs of a blown EGR cooler. i got a box of ARPs sitting at the shop ready for a new owner! haha. give me a holler we could get it fixed up for ya.
jdc753
06-27-2010, 09:26 PM
Thanks Joe but I ended up dropping it off at Mass Diesel since I could limp it there. After the first time it hydrolocked I pretty much babied it, but it didn't really blow any white smoke other than the first few minutes of running after it had hydrolocked. Best guess is its only the EGR cooler since it didn't seem to bump the coolant back through the cooling system (bypassing the head gaskets.)
missed ya at the worcester meet, but I'm sure I'll be seeing ya around at some of the other meets.

Thanks for the info, Josh. The Pats are playing New Orleans tomorrow night so route 1 will be pretty busy, with the SB champs in town and the 1st preseason game @ 7:30. Alot of the cars probably would have stayed away, anyway.

One of those PSN trucks was mine (maroon bus) pretty sure non of the other guys are on here though. They are all out from the Scituate area. That white 7.3 regular cab is about 650+ hp the other 6.0's are the standard issue tuner exhaust intake type trucks, nothing too wild.

There was a white duramax that was leaving when i drove by your trucks. Stacks with a ton of lights. Looked pretty sick from behind. And there was a 6.0 in the show area. Had a light bar and a ton of LED strobes, fender flares, 08 mirrors, engine mods (left before i could talk to him), crew cab. That was a pretty sick truck

If so thats Joe, flares are the newest edition on the truck, plus it just got painted only a few months back. I believe he had studs, air intake, coolant filter, intake elbow and some different intercooler boots. He's a pretty cool guy and would gladly talk to ya about the truck.
Joeniel
09-10-2010, 01:40 PM
Yep thats it. All kinds of LEDs in the windshield and back window. I didnt really like the flares but its still a nice truck. He was pulling out when i walked over to look at it. He has the front end I want...
jdc753
09-10-2010, 02:02 PM
Yea he used to have most all the LED's visible now they are all hidden. I am always joking with them about stealing their harley headlights when not looking.
There is a green truck on PSN and local, he has only made one post on here, but I think his is the same green as yours and he has the 05 conversion done with the chrome package grill and harley headlights, looks really nice. I'll try and find a pic of it for ya.

I dont think its that good right now. The grille, front bumper, headlights, all look like $hit and i got rust on the bed.
And if you want a goood wax, go into bass pro next time, downstairs to the left, and get the meguiars mirror glaze boat wax. Best one ive used hands down, and Ive always waxed my truck, and my car before that, multiple times a month during the summer, and try for once mid winter.

and maybe some sanding and painting on the bed.

I might try that out, seems everyone all uses a different wax. I ended up just going with some Mequiars gold wax. Just picked up something quick to try it out and get the hang of the whole process and all. Ended up claybaring the truck and then waxing it. Thinking I should have done some compounding on it before. Also I need some sort of a bug n tar remover to pull up some of the bigger stuff and then I got a few spots of rust (in the paint not sheet metal) down along my rockers in the silver.

I dont think ive ever really done clay bar. I did it a few times after I got the truck, but after that, I kept it so waxed that not alot of stuff really stayed stuck. I always use simple green on my mirrors bumper grille and non painted surfaces and it takes everything off

My doors and bed sides REALLY needed the clay bar. I realized this after I started lol. As far as I know in 115k this is the first time the truck has been waxed unless they did it at the dealership before I bought it, at 49k 3 years ago. Planning to keep it clean and waxed from here on out.

Yea I was a bit worried with the clouds too but it was a pretty good turn out. They even had a bunch of Snap on guys there, 2 big display tractor trailers with a Snap On Nomad, and the Orange Country Choppers built Snap On chopper and some tool displays. Then all the local snap on tool trucks were lined up by the berm.
There is usually a few S10's but the only one that is sticking out in my mind is a square body older one that is dropped on 18's or 20's with a TPI small block in it. Is that it? Pretty nice truck.

No, his is stock. Light blue with a cap. He's retired and has an old Mercury, but won't take it any further than local cruise nights, not as far as Foxboro. Nice car, suicide doors, flat head, but being a 6 volt, he doesn't like the idea of needing the headlights for a long period of time.

Yea, I wish I knew who was who truck wise. We all just need to pick one wicked specific spot and park in it. I have a NETDP decal on my back window now so. Im taking off the next cruise so I can get there at a reasonable time.

Yup retro is the one I want to go with. I don't know how much of a discount if any they offer, but they are a sponser on PSN and say to use PSN as the discount code when ordering. Tons of guys on there are running them and have nothing but great things to say about them.
Maybe if we can all get there around 6 or 6:30 or so and then park down the end where its still a bit open might work. Or find a spot outside of the show to meet before hand and then all go in as one so its one group when inside.

I think they'll be one, maybe two after that, weather permitting. I have pics dated 10/22, from last year. Of course, it gets darker earlier then.
Joeneil's HID's will come in handy if we want to hang around the parking lot. :smilielol:
