so seeing as ever since i put in my 3k gsw the t/c has been hunting alot, i really need to do a tc lockup switch and would also like to clean out my TPS.... i would love to do a 3 way switch if possible (normal driving, locked, unlocked) and it would also help seeing as the dyno is next weekend, it would make life alot easier to not have to worry about downshifts...... so who can help me out??? im in greenville/ manchester daily, and make a fair amount of trip to the seacoast......

that helps a lil bit flip, but i heard there was a way to run a 3 position switch instead, os that i can switch between : stock, locked and unlocked... anyone have the diagram to wire that up? if someone gets me the diagram, then i can wire it up no problem

Call Doug... he knows but 2 pos...normal and lock...WHY UNLOCKED?To warm your oil and use more fuel?
I'm trying to get mine done to SAVE fuel...waiting for a friend to help when he has time
I'm trying to locate the schematic to wire the relays Dave. You will need the info that Flip posted also.
Found it...

yeah, i think im just gonna go the "simple" route and avoid all the relays, but go with the 3position switch..... now lies the question of where the hell to mount the switch for ease of use and not being hideous...????

Well that opens up another can doesn't it? If you don't use the relays it won't unlock the TC with the brake. There will be a time when you come to a stop and having forgotten to turn off the TC lock up switch your truck will shudder violently and stall. Not pretty at all.
There is a positive with not using the relays...you only need a SPST switch. (on/off) No need for the 3 position switch. I've got plenty of these switches, just remnd me when we see each other next.
Mount the switch somewhere on the dash bezel, maybe to the left of the column.

i understand the idea of running the safe way with the relays, but it seems like it wouldnt serve the purpose i want. i dont want my TC to unlock when i touch the brakes doing 70 down the highway..... i would rather just to keep the TC locked..... yeah i know its a touch bit risky as far as coming to a stop, but im pretty sure ill be ok. the other reason i want to go with the 3 position is so that i can control the TC and leave it unlocked until i reach a higher mph while towing and control downshifts while approaching hills.
doug, you'll have to take a look next time your up my way to see where i can mount the switch without totally fubar'ing my dash.

I WOULD THINK that IF the tranny does NOT downshift with the tc locked...it would be REAL HARD NOT to notice the motor lugging down
Yes, its quite noticeable:smilielol:
The transmission will NOT downshift if the T/C is locked with a switch. Even if you move the shifter.
The 3 position switch will do nothing for you. You need a SPST (on/off) switch for it to work without relays.
