Okay, so I just bought a 95 Cummins 2500 again (woooo back to my screen name) for a beater truck so I can keep the miles off my CR (already up to 140.)

Anyways, Its an automatic 4x4 but the tranny is toast in it. I know a guy who has a 94 3500 dualie chassis cab with a 360 gas and it has a 5 speed. I did some searching to try to find if the trannys were the same as the diesel in the 3500's but I could only find about the 2500's with the 360's having a smaller input shaft, etc.

So basically I am looking to find out if this guy's dualie has an NV4500HD or just a standard NV4500 for the gas trucks. I would have thought it had a HD transmission being a chassis cab, but I won't know without looking at it. Can anyone save me a trip to this guy's house by telling me from experience what transmission and transfer case this truck has?

I thought only the V10 used the same trans as ours Dave.

I know the autos were that way, not sure about the sticks. I'm pretty sure a 360, even in a chassis cab, would have gotten the 46RH, not the 47RH in 94.

Here ya go Dave, this should help:

Two versions of the NV4500 are used in 1994+ models. A standard duty version is used for 5.2L and 5.9L applications and a heavy duty version is used for V10, and Cummins diesel engines. The main differences between the two versions concern the larger input and output shafts used in the heavy duty version.

Thanks guys, I'm probably going to buy the truck anyways so that I have the conversion parts (the guy only wants 500 bucks for it) even if I don't use the tranny, t-case, etc I still have the pedals, column, floor shift boots, plus a good running 360 to sell.

You might as well buy it for that price. Seems like every year on this site, someone want's to convert an auto to stick. You'll get your money back if you don't use the parts.
