Towing mirriors

I picked up a set of gen 3 tow mirriors and was wondering if anyone ever trimmed the plastic down to fit a 2nd gen, of if I can just buy the black plastic instead of selling these and buying another set. Traded a set of sport's for these so if it can be done this will save big money.

Not sure on trimming them but I have heard of guys buying a set of power/heated 3rd gen mirrors and a set of manual 2nd gen ones and making power/heated 2nd gen mirrors and manual 3rd gen ones to sell. I don't know if this helps you any. Also I have a friend with an 05 that would buy the ones you have. :exactly:

They cant be "trimmed", sell them and buy the right ones. :exactly:

mounts on the 3rd gen are much larger where they attach to the door.

Well I'll have to take them off if I get a chance this weekend. Guess I'll sell them instead of hacking, better plan and cleaner finish. I held up the 3 gen set to my new doors and there is a huge differance. Didn't think it was that much. I'll post the other set for sale once they are off.

yeah i got a set on ebay but found out the hard way about routing the wires.

Yea a lil wiring 101 to get the heat and power to work. I have seen several aftermarket sets with the power and heat. I did get a power mirrior harness with my new doors so I should be able to make somthing out of it.

so does someone make a set of power heated tow mirrors for a 2nd gen that bolts right up with no wiring issues?
