I would go with sdx injectors over ddp's. the stage 2's are a 90hp injectors. probably a good replacement for your stock ones depending on how much you tow. I don't tow much at all, so I went with a 7x.012 which is similar to a 5x.016, which is bigger then a ddp 4. and the 7x.012's I have with the thin washers and 22.5* don't haze once warmed up and idle great......
Ya, you would think the guy would come around every once in a while :stirthepot:

so, finally got the truck back yesterday! :woohoo::woohoo: thing runs great. and ben fixed everything that was wrong. except maybe the radio, not sure if the one i tried hookin up burnt out or if it was somehting else. but swapped my injectors back to my 250's man will she move, i forgot my truck could go that fast lol. so question, i didn't have any sealing issues that i could see. but last night when i pulled my stockers i had a bit of raw fuel on the injectors. would that be from fuel in the connector tubes gettin spilled onto them when i popped it out? and it was only in cylinders 1-3......still had all my orings and washers on the injectors. so i was stumped......what should i do about that? nothing it ain't a big deal, have it looked at?????? etc

Goose's Diesel in Pleasant Valley, NY sells it (845)635-1214. He's local to me. I think I paid $13 a gal and it includes a free oil testing. I can get you some if you want? let me know. If you call, tell them Deo sent you.
As for Evan he won't return any phone calls or pms any more, so who knows? I'd like to find out myself..its 2 yrs with no title. :nutkick:

Ok so got my truck back etc etc. power mirrors took a dump or something to that extent.....one way or another they ain't workin. Any ideas on what to check?? I took the door panel off and it was plugged in.also checked fuses and relays but the mirrors don't have their own of either of them......anyone know where would be a good place to start searching?? Also talked to ben figuring he may have tinkered with something but he really isn't sure himself. So I got all my bases covered with the info/knowledge I have. Any help is appreciated.

They dont work period? I know when I was testing my tow mirrors after rigging them to 12V wiring 2 wires touched and shorted and now my drivers side doesnt go up, but I traced it to the switch the mirror works fine if I apply voltage to it.
I would check the schematic figure out which pins to put 12V at to get the mirrors to move and see if its the mirrors or the switch burnt out

sounds like the switch, Unplug one of the mirrors and check for power, if not it could be the wires breaking between the door and the body, that's very common.

They don't work at all.when I dropped it off to ben they worked fine. Now neither of them work at all. Not blaming ben. but I highly doubt he adjusted the mirrors to pull the truck into his shop them to test drive. Lol so I really find it hard to believe that they both would have just .... the bed, unless ben did something that affected my mirrors without his knowledge. (my truck is a bit of a wiring disaster......not my own doing by the way lol)

thanks to my buddy Ryan at cape cod diesel I am now hood stacked, and my tranny is good. here's a small video of the hoodstack which is actually not as loud in the cab as 6" stack behind the cab.....also the hood was rusting right where the hood stack is otherwise I probably wouldn't have done this. but since a hole was already there why not. :HoleShotHolset:

the plastic red foldger's coffee containers fit well. the exhaust doesn't get that hot either so it shouldn't melt, but I don't plan to keep the hoodstack that long, hopefully its out by march or april. :HoleShotHolset:

while driving it shouldn't be an issue, but while at light some may get in there, but the exhaust gas temperatures would probably be hot enough to vaporize all of the water that might go into the exhaust :dunno: but I plan to have a regular exhaust on this rust bucket around march or april so the number of torrential down pours I will experience should be very minimal.

lol..Thats whay It takes me twice as long to work on things i need to clean them up.....i feel your trans swap pain.. I blew my Getrag and may be my clutch in my flat bed plowing 2 days ago. Argh. I actually drove it home in nuetral!!! had to slip the clutch alot to get moving ..truck still smells like burnt clutch.. I progressed from shifting final no problems on th eway to =driving my wife to work in Brewster. On the way back it would pop out oif 5th gear ..it has never done that so I was alittle curious and pissed. I plowed a few driveways and it was getting harder to shift little by little. In my second to last driveway it started squealling like a fan belt under the truck the truck..so I shut it off, as I shoveled. I figured it was the throw out bearing or pilot bearing in the flywheel. I may have been the pocket bearing fro the transmission shaft?? I attempted to drive to my last drive way and it wouldn't shift unless I floated the gears without the clutch. Finally at the last driveway I made one pass and went to back up. It wouldn't shift into gear. so I tryed turning it off putting in 1st gear then starting it..it stalled. same with reverse ... while sitting there running, I put it in nuetral and let out the clutch and the truck tried to move...so thats how I finally drove it home.. my friend with a flatbed showed up for my free tow, but his was a flatbed wasn't long enough so the truck wouldn't fit on it....so I slipped the hell out of the clutch to get going and drove it home in nuetral. argh.....

now all the decisions... pull the getrag out & put the getrag from evans truck in it, or put a plow frame on evans truck and plow with that( it needs outer u joints in the front and brake work, or pull my 727 from my old truck and swap that in, or buy a used superduty ford plow setup & finish my tan excursion with a single turbo - plow with that, & finally the last decision.... give up for the winter and buy a used $200 snowblower from my friend lol.
I found my vibration in th e2005 excursion. the rear drive shaft the double carden joint off the transfercase is bad. i bout u joints to replace them, but the center ball socket is worn out. It wasn't greasable either WTF...teh slip joint has play too and it isn't greaseable either WTF.... haha so basically I wants a driveshaft shop to replace the double carden joint witha greasable one, and add a greasable slip joint...so basically a new drive shaft $..i am going see what fleet pride in danbury wants to do it..old CT driveshaft.. any other ideas for good shops??...

Opinions please...
My green flatbed....do I sell it and finish my Excursion with cummins , buy a superduty plow setup, and get a little dumping trailer? If I sell do I part it or sell broken? I'm kinda torn if I should sell it of not. I have a bunch of cool parts to install and finish it.. ie cab swap with a/c and cruise and little to no rust. I could finish the central hydraulics / pto, finish on board air, and remote exhaust brake etc.. heck I have a remote 28k hydraulic winch I was going to fit behind the rear axle in the frame rails argh.. so it could be pretty cool. But i can only keep up on so many vehicles 2 excursions, a firstgen and a vw tdi are a lot of vehicles to insure, maintain, put fuel, oil tires etc....maybe I can get classic or antique insurance.. heck maybe use my '89 title / cab?
I pulled the transfercase and trans from Evans old first gen and it seems like the transfercase was rebuilt it has writing on it and is very tight and smooth teh oil was spotless, the trans feels good too and oil was very clean.. If Evan would return my phone calls maybe I would know more. I'm debating paying $800-1000 for a good clutch now when I have apart or just us the stock clutch from evans old truck and throw it together? I even started playing with a twin stick conversion for the np205 etc.
Thanks,
Deo

I'm kinda leaning toward that my self..I would be nice if I finished it..just not liking the $800-1200 clutch price I may have to cough up ..... one day at a time.
I'm waiting to get the estimate on the '05 excursion rear drive shaft. I dropped it off yesterday, Their driveshaft guy won't get to look at it till monday or tues. Getting a greasable double carden ( needle adapter needed), new greasable slip joint and balancing. Hopefully Fleetpride in danbury does good job.. crossing my fingers.. I have a bunch of drive shaft work after that too..front in the '05 excursion ( add greable slip joint & balance), shorten / lengthen for the cummins excursion, and my plow truck needs slip joints too..argh:falldownlaugh::97DodgeCTD:

Deo, I just had the flywheel reground. The pilot bearing is a small needle type bearing. If you're at all worried, pull the PTO cover and put a dial indicator on each shaft and check end play. Should be 0 end play on both. If there's any, reshim it to 0 and it should be fine.
That twin stick kit is cool! :smokin:

So I will keep posting my ads until I find a rich dumb ass to buy my truck. He must be a real retard because he could go to any dealer and get a 2005 model for the same price with a factory Warranty. Now that I think about it I really do want win the lottery as well. I figure if I can get lucky and find the dumbest mother ....er in CT. I may as well try to win the lottery as well.
Hey jerk off I don't know who told you your truck is worth that much. I hope it wasn't Kelley and her stupid ....ing book. .... Kelly and her book you have a 16 year old work truck asshole. Stop clogging up CL with your bull.... ads.

Jer12377- I have a 12v lift pump/canister whole assembly if you're still looking for one. :poke:

Yes, I'm interested, I just haven't read enough on what one I need. The little I know is there is a hi and low flow pump and I need the low flow or install a pressure return line, or something like that.:dunno: If I use the hi flow and no bypass it will blow out some seal in my VE pump. Do you know what pump it is and you have all the lines? I think the 2nd gen line is what I need also. I think I'm gonna have to up grade with the new injectors I just ordered.

If you use the 2nd gen LP you need to add a bypass regulator. The VE doesn't like much more than 15psi or it blows the front shaft seal out and fills the engine w/ fuel. Some guys are running a boost referenced regulator. There's been quite a few posts on that setup in the last couple months.

Isn't there a low flow 2nd gen pump that doesn't put out the hi pressure but still increases the flow, or something like that?

Sorta kinda. It's used in an Ag application. Low pressure, it has a weaker spring. I have one in mine, 15 PSI is about it. Problem is, the old part number has been superceded, and so has the price. It used to be about $125 or so, and now they are about $300. There are some on e-bay that are advertised as the low pressure, I think they're by Delphi, but they only make 7psi. And drop to way less when you get on it. I got mine from the Case/IH dealer.
If you go on 1st gen and search, it will come up with a list of all the part numbers needed to swap over. Line, pump, spacer, and gaskets. If you go to the Case dealer or cummins, the pump part number will sub to the big $ one.

Happy B-Day Joe and any writeup on this 800 Cummins?
yea its all over the internet 390 horse and 800 ft lbs , seems like they went to town beefing up the truck
"Ram HD towing ratings are also headed upward, with an optional Max Tow package that will increase fifth wheel towing to 22,700 pounds on select Ram 3500 one-ton models, up from today's 18,500 pounds rating. The max gross combined weight rating will also rise to as high as 30,000 pounds.
To handle the increased towing, the Max Tow package will add a beefed up rear axle with a new 4.10 gear ratio, new rear-axle pinion, new helical gears, upgraded bearings and an aluminum differential cover with large cooling fins. There's also a new water-to-oil transmission cooler and new power steering cooler to help manage the higher trailer towing ratings.
Diaz said Ram will continue to not require the use of desel exhaust fluid to meet emissions. It will remain urea-free, using Cummins technology to reduce NOx without DEF refills.

By the looks of it Dodge still gets owned by Chevy and Ford in the "max payload" and towing without a 5th wheel big time.:TqT:
