So I settled in to attack the ball joints on my truck, dreading the last time on my '02 that took me 10 hours. This time I had the truck down to the ball joints inside of 15 minutes (with air tools of course). Wheel bearing popped out with the whack of a rubber mallet! I couldn't believe it. The ball joints pressed out with zero issues at all. Man what a relief! If you get a chance to buy a southern truck, especially from the drier climates, go for it

WTF is the fun in that, don't get to bust out the torches, or make loud banging noises with the 5lb or better yet 20lb sledge, or cuss the truck out by the 3rd time you get some rust in the eye. Man your taking all the fun out of it, OH and what about slipping on the wet concrete floor cause your snow/salt/sand covered truck is thawing out in the shop...
Dreaming of a southern truck someday, sure must be nice lol. Least you can appreciate it Eric, unlike half the other guys down there who don't have a clue what its like to work on a rotting out northern truck

Man I worked on my last truck for so long I had GI Joe kung fu grip for hours afterwards!! It was definately a welcome experience. I did get lucky in that aspect with my truck originally being from northeast New Mexico, high altitude with dry air, can't beat it.
Funny thing is though, where I live in Corpus Christi we are right on the gulf coast where the wind predominately blows out of the south. You have to wash you cars religiously every week just to keep the salt air off of them. Vehicles around this area actually rust pretty good. You need to go inland to the drier areas to get the good ones.
That made me laugh Josh, the slipping on the concrete floor part, man the number of times!

haha glad ya liked it, scary how slippery it gets when a little water is on there.
Definitely sucks about that airborn salt but gives you a good excuse to keep the truck nice and clean.
