Alright i have my H2 wheels and my big old bfg all terrains. I need three tires and i figured i would consider a different brand to throw on theose wheels. Truck has a leveling kit and i can go higher, but not much:stirthepot: . What is the best type of Aggressive tread tire for the price. I am looking for a mud style or similar to the BFG all-terrain. All input is welcom.. id like to saty at the 315/70/17 but bigger is better!!:exactly:

I've got Cooper Discoverer STT's and I love them they look sweet but are a bit pricy. The BFG's are good I had some BFG A/T's on my 88 Chevy and wnet through every mud puddle I threw at that thing :smokin: :woohoo:
But yeah, Check out the Pro Comp All Terrains too, their not too bad. I almost bought those for mine.

there isnt a lot available for that size. I trued to find a good e rated tire and the choices are very limited. if yo uwant a mud terrain look at nitto mud grapplers I believe they come in that size, I thought about them but i dont wheel enough. I still have the bfg's on my h2's and if I dont find a good alternative ill replace them with the same

315 70R17 converts to 35x12.5x17, try Interco Tires, they make the Super Swamper line and have 10 ply mud tires which is an "E" rating.

I think that's where you're going to run into an issue, relitavly inexpensive does not usually translate into aggressive traction

hahahah that is so true, lol the cheapest are the dunlop mud rover, and the most expensive is the bfg a/t. Mickey Thompson is not to bad for the baja claw, at 207....

Ahem. OK, I went from BFG A/T's to Cooper HTs. I'm not impressed. The HTs are quiet, traction during the winter was acceptable, handling is good, but wear is not great. I'm down almost a 1/4" in 10K. They don't seem to perform or worse than the A/T tires and initially handled a lot worse since the truck sits higher. We'll see how they do/don't do on the dunes this summer... The main point is, they were cheaper and are wearing like it too...
Tires are gonna wear out, even more so if you are hard on them. The old addage holds true here, you get what you pay for....
Ramdriver, if you are on a tight budget, check out the local scrap yards, check out millis used autoparts in Millis. and Goldies in Walpole. They might have a near matching set with 10K left on 'em. Good to go......................

OH i know what you mean. My 4 cooper's were 900 in change and will likely only fetch me about 24-32k miles. 10 of which, in 7 months are already gone. And, these are for only on-road pretty much... look on TDR for what people use and check consumer reports too... Also, shop around...
Have you tried tirerack.com ??
