injector machining

does anyone know whats involved in machining injector tips? I see most are edm'd but is it because there is nothing else that will cut the material?
oh and does anyone have any size numbers or the orifice for different HP injectors?

I figured it was because they could easily set the correct angle and use a hole popper to start a small diameter hole or even make the hole to the right size. I measured my 370's prior to putting them in but I can't find the info.

I think mine were .012" dia. I'm talking stockers for a first gen
