Hey guys & gals:

How many of you take your trucks out on sand-dunes? If so, where do you like to go? How do you do it, etc. I was out in sand today and found my cooper h/t s to be pretty tough (read:not good) in deep sand. Anyway, it was fun in spite of the bogging down. I'm loooking for good safe places to go...

Happy Summer! :)

Thats what the quad is for, not the 7200lb truck:Paully6:

yeah, yeah, yaaaaa, i know. But no quad for me and my kids... I'm looking for new/used tires that might be better suited for this... I'm also realizing that the diesel truck might not be so good at sand duning 'cause of it's weight... :-|

Did you air down your tires first? That makes a huge difference when we go wheeling in the Jeep.

I didn't at first, but then went down to 40psi. Helped some, but the tire tread just seemed good at digging IN, but not OUT...

40? What do you run on the street? That's not enough...we drop the pressure in the Jeep tires to 10psi when off road.

I run 60-64 on the street.

I'll be trying again for sure, probably in a couple of weeks.

How do your tires wear at that pressure? I run 55 in the front and 45 in the back, empty.
