Here's one of mine. - 2002 Dodge CTD - 8.5' Fisher EZ-V. 1st Pic was taken last February during the Blizzard, 2nd & 3rd pic was taken 2 days after. Unfortunately That was the last time it really snowed! :dontgetit:

my truck's a Dodge, and it is a diesel, but my plow is in pieces, after the resto i did on it this past fall/ winter, does that count?! lol I just put the frame on two weeks ago. GOOD THING for me it hasn't snowed...i'd be sunk! I do feel for all those that are MORE PREPARED that I am ( i'm not prep'd, obviously...) Working 40 hrs, gutting/renovating a house, exams, and class doesn't leave much time at this point... but hell, i'll play and post a pic of my FAUX plow truck!...hehe :loser:

My oldest truck,a 91 GMC K1500HD,which is carrying much more than any 1500 should. This has been a great truck,it has a little 8'6" Western MVP,and a 1 yard SS spreader.I out a powertrax differential in it 5 yrs ago, best money i spent, this truck is unstoppable with salt ,and the powertrax.

The only time it pushes the truck over is if you hit an imoveable object or a frozen pile.IMO it actually pushes better with both plows than just the front. Most of my plowing is done in 2wd,rarely do i need 4wd.The Dodge is very heavy, between 12,and 14000lbs usually, when pushing snow, not much stops it or moves it,I got a video if i can figure it out ill post it.The Dodge does the work of 2-3 trucks depending on the site.My old GMC with onl an 8.5 Vee,can only windrow 4ft at a time, anymore spills. The Dodge can push between 10-11ft per pass,I have basically mothballed the old GMC for a backup, its too unproductive after running the blizzard plows.

Lets try this video, this was last January,10" + of the wettest snow ive ever pushed,I actually needed 4wd in this storm a lot of the time.

Thank you,I thought you'd like it.We need snow bad here,I dont even have any pics from this yr yet.The wing cuts my route time by 25-40% depending on how deep the snow is,the deeper it is,the more it helps.

I think if I had one of those my insurance would drop me, the only immoveable objects id hit would be parked cars while driving down the road:duh:

Once you have a sidewing, you tend to plow lanes wider, and ive hit the occasional tree and cleared some brush with it:woohoo: . Also if i am pushing back banks with it(something it does well) and hit a frozen one,it will gently push the truck over a bit, until it celars the problem. It is a lot safer to hit somethign you think may be frozen with the wing than the front blade.

I wish I had some! One of the other truck drivers said, " that thing must have some horsepower?" I said, " Yeah so much for those silly Ford commercials huh?":woohoo: He laughed
The guy had a 53 foot trailer but it was empty, it was cool though, there were a whole bunch of people that were pretty impressed with this ole Dodge Cummins.
Lucky you guys we got 2-3" of frozen snow/sleet that I cant even get off the driveway. I did the walkway and it came up in frozen chunks 3" thick and about 2X2 square.

WOW, That wing is horney! I'v never seen one of thoes. I doubt I'd do that, if you hit something solid, :wtf2: I just put a EZvee on my 02 dmax. This is the first time I'v plowed with a v plow, wow, what a diffrence, al the banter I'v heard about them is correct. I love it, and it does save me time. I am pritty slow about posting pics. I will try to post some of the truck with the plow. I got a smoken deal on this new plow , privet sale. That guy had a new 8' ss x plow with the itensifire lites, still in his yard. WOW, That wing is horney! I'v never seen one of thoes. I doubt I'd do that, if you hit something solid, :wtf2:. You doubt you'd do what, put a wing on the truck? If you hit something it trips like the front blade.Id rather hit something with the rear plow,it just scoots the rear of the truck over, and you go right by it(trees, concrete bumpers). I dont know what EZV you got,but if its the smaller 8'6", i have one on my old 91GMC ,its twin sister the Western MVP,its a 2002 model, that plow is very reliable, but very unproductive compared to the Blizzard 810.The Dodge with the wing and blizzard will do 2-3x the work of the GMC/Western 8'6" in the same amount of time, and do a better job.The way i see it is, when it snows, you have 6-8 hrs after the last flakes fall in most cases to get everyone opened up,and happy. Then you can go back to the commercial lots and finish up.But if you can double the amount of work you can take in that time, you can double your income. That is why i went with the wing plow\and Blizzards.
XLTRod
02-19-2007, 07:47 PM
Ok I get it. I'v never seen one on a pick up b4. I guess it would scoot over if it hit something solid. I got this ez v the other day from a guy neer Worchester, it is brand new I hope it will be reliable. I only do 13 driveways plus my own yard. The wing wouldent help me. Who makes em and where do you get them. How much? Thanks , Rod:beerchug:

One thing i forgot to mention was the wing has helped me get new accounts.Ive had pickups, and town trucks stop and watch me work with the wing, customers are reacting to it constantly.Everyone asks me about the wing, its a great conversation starter, kind of like when you take your dog to the park for a walk, everyone wants to see it,and check it out.I was thinking i may put a deflector on it with my number.I do not do call ins ,thats the only reason i havent done it yet.

John DiMartino
02-20-2007, 09:27 PM
Short bed. I can fit everything I need, and its lighter, and more agile than the long bed.I have the long bed spreader in there as well.I measured it at the dealers, and said I wanted the long bed one,he told me it wont fit,so i told him id pay the labor to swap them if i was wrong....it fits perfectly.

haha i know about the clutch my last plow truck was a 96 2500 with a 318 and a 5 spd with a preformance clutch weighted clutch. But its looking like he needs help on his commercial lots. As for the blizzard plows fisher bought them out last I knew. They are now offering the same expandable winged design so id stay with that as it has a trip edge vs full trip moldboard. If I was buying new thats what id be lookin at :exactly: Not really lookin to make money just enough to pay off the plow as I dont really want to beat the truck up to bad with a plow.

8.5 EZ V 2 plug system bought for $800 with the dodge wiring and everything needed to install on my truck. Had it sandblasted and then I painted it to match the truck not a bad plow for the 1200 I have into it :HoleShotHolset:

I'm curious to see how a plow mounts on a mid 90s Dodge, if one would fit with a hitch receiver on the front then I'd consider getting one one day. Goodbye ground clearance:smilielol:

Thanks ryan its never to nice to be a work truck :stirthepot: Only the first scratch hurt... Its still only a truck, unfortunitly its not a money maker to me bought it just for personal use, as I am planning on getting some land to put a house and garage on. figured this is a little more usefull than a regular pickup I do need some better pictures of the truck though, ill grab some thursday when I plow out my uncles house whos gone for the winter.
