View Full Version : Coffee Nights II Second Shift (Saturday thang)
<T M T T>
09-13-2007, 12:39 AM
Coffee Nights II Second Shift is all about the need for accesability. As we have seen some can't make Friday Nights due to the late scramble out of work and time to hustle down (Or up) To Derby. So this goes out to all the guys out there who just can't get enough , Just can't get there on fridays, and of course those who just wanna come out Friday AND Saturday! So what time is a good time to start, and just how many Saturdays are we going to have the need for? Two a month? More? Less?
I Am thinking 5:00~ish.

LOL yea: "Hon, I went out for diesel and my "insert-here-whatever-broke" and I had to go see "insert-special-dude-onNETDP.com" guy.
For example, "Geesh baby, I was filling up at the oil depot and I smelled diesel, i peered under the front and it was dripping really bad. So I went to the next town over, where there's an autozone and they didn't have the part.
So i bought some duct tape, yea, not duck but duct tape and I patched it up. I then decided at this late hour of 630pm that only someone in derby would know how to fix this problem. So I loaded up a case a beer, not in me, but in the truck, not in the tank but in the cab, nevermind...
So I got to derby and these guys where all like partying on with them badselves so after awhile I got them to help me out and we identified it as I had left the drain water from fuel valve open. So in my deepest gratitude I bought them dinner, then we drank the case a beer.
I couldn't leave right away with the sun coming up so we decided to go to breakfast... After breakfast it was just so splendid that I took a nap in the bed of the truck and awoke remembering we wanted to do some work around the house this weekend.
I immediately headed over to the local home depot and bought the supplies. I was so excited I cruised all the way home. But as I got closer I realized it was almost dinner so I stopped at the local pizza joint and got the best pizza they had to offer; I knew you'd appreciate it and now we have the sustenance, food, and time to be together... Welcome home :nutkick: LOL
um, my wife is calling so later dude... :smilielol:

True on the price. I hear pretty good things about 'em. The Helix is ground from a new blank, so it's mo money. PDR sells both ways, I think. I do know the PDR has a bolt-on gear available. Not sure about Helix or MaxSpool.

is your motah painted black and red or something cause my friend who works at mass diesel said theres a few 12v's lying around that are built up and he drives the black 01 qcsb with the sickest exhuast you've ever it comes out right by the his trailer hitch and sounds pretty good hes got a magnaflow on it full custom exhuast tho he did it all himself. he the kid with the short blonde hair he' still in heaven cause he works at mass diesel and is finally making the money to get the much needed tranny, injection pump and other stuff he wants.
nope thats Prattenbury's. Its now done and gone from scotts. Your buddy pulled my trans on saturday when I was up there. nice kid, and I saw his truck up at epping, and on sat. When at epping i didnt realize he worked at scotts.

You know, it's the P-pump causing the cam walk. The mo fuel you flow, the harder the pump is to turn, causing more undesirable loads on the cam gear. That's why bolt-on gear would be a good idea for our rides.

thats what i was referring to actually but now ur motors up there? he was telling me he did a full billet tranny recently on a weekend and he is also building this guy's irp dave's new truck... maybe you've heard of him? with some nice parts. yah that kid is like a walking encyclopedia for cummins and anything else, this kid can do everything, and fix anything, i guess one of his neighbors is a retired cummins engineer so he learned from the best. and him and his dad build chrysler hot rods in their shop on the cape. so lots of hands on experiece. yah his truck is pretty nice, i think he debadged it but never finished but his exhuast is pretty unique, he built it himself and did all the welding sitting under his truck in the rain lol.

SBC... Small Block Chevy
All the diesels, if it's Cummins, Volvo, etc... are all (the newer models) fresh water cooled, so they hold up very well.
They are also making a lot of improvements for the gasser line of marine engines.
I think I am going to install a fresh water cooling system on mine over the winter.

Attn Coffee night goers:
Due to increased costs of the shop the following is a plan the Rent payers have devised to help us out a little on the financial end of things. If you want to come down and hang out thats cool but if you plan on working on your vehicle we have decided on a fee schedule that looks like this:
$20 for the first hour or any part thereof
$30 per following hour or any part thereof
You can use our tools, but you need to bring your own supplies (grease, brake cleaner, rags etc..)
the shop is available during the week if you have a day off and would like to try to complete a project, contact a shop rep to try to arrange a good time to get it opened up.
Thanks for the understanding and your support.
