Plannin on getting either a #8 or #6 plate from TST and i jus want to know which would be best. The #8 is the one recommended for my truck but i would like to get the #6 but is that too much for the stock tranny? Im also gettin the 3kgsk on top of that. i also will have a boost and pyro gauge should be all set besides the tranny? THANKS

If you plan to do the tranny maybe you could do a #10 and slide it back until you get the tranny done.

5+6 are great plates, 5 is a little more aggressive up top. I run a 5 and it has good low end smoke control and allows alot of rack travel up top.
For a stock trans you can get a more aggressive plate and just keep it back (twards the cab) until you get a VB/TC at the bare minimum done. once thats done you can slide the plate forwards for some more gitty up.
This is of course based on the fact you have pyro/boost/egt guages:exactly:

The 3k GSK is by far the best modification you can make to the 12 valve. It makes it feel like a totally different truck. I know :Signal73: will back me up on that.

by far the best mod expessially if the keepers get an extra click or two I think my 3k became a 3.5k haha

Just cause it can do it doesnt mean I do it :falldownlaugh: Kinda hard to let out though it does pull hard up there.

3kgsk = :HoleShotHolset:

I rev past 3500 w/ no 60lb springs, so it goes...

It is a good mod. When I did that, i then had the timing increased to 16*. Ran real good for a long time, then you want more... so, becareful.

I found the 3kgsk real good to have when i'm hauling a ton, or pulling 10K...
It definitely helps...

i deffinately plan on gettin the 3kGSK and i plan on having all this done at Mass Diesel Performance if i get the #6 plate would they put it in the proper place knowin that i got a stock tranny or do they jus put back in stock postion? Would a good torque converter take care of the stock tranny for awhile? and obviously i would get the TC when i get more $$$ All the gauges will be in at the same time as the plate and 3kgsk so no worries
THANKS

The TC is only one part to making a strong tranny. You still have a lot of other parts that will slip...

Best bang for the buck for sure:HoleShotHolset: Driveability is 100X better.

CTD_Dually, You could talk to Scott about that if thats who you decide to have do the work.

3500, then shift! :exactly: Ya gotta keep the soot blown out, or it'll kill somebody behind ya! :smilielol: I ran it that high a few times before springs, I tried to be careful though.

I've run mine to 3700 a couple times, no power past 3500. :dunno:

do they make a 4k spring for the ve pumps? i would say to get power at 3500 with a 3k spring is pretty darn good. i bring my dads truck with over 200k out to 3200rpm all the time and its loves it. too bad the sb con 0 slips with only an intake exhaust, 10 plate and 3kgsk.

On the dyno chart it starts to drop off at 2900, seat of the pants, still pullin'! :woohoo:
When it hits 3500- 3550, done, just like you shut it off. :wtf2: Time for a custom spring, I think! :smilielol:
