Thanks Carl.. I think the BHT3E with 20 cm houing would probbaly be th ebest bet too..mummn do you have a turbo shop semi local you deal with? I have ordered from Alamo turbo in Washington State, but it sucks ship, and just marking the shaft and compressor wheel on a rebuild just doesn't give me a good feeling either.. I've done it before and the turbos are working fine, but I'd like to have it balanced to get that good feeling..... I'm looking for either a new compressor wheel for the BHT3E or a 23cm or 27cm turbine housing for a New Garrett HT3B I have already, it has a 32cm turbine argh. What do you think for the HX50 keep the modied 6cm housing, or mod a 9cm housing or mod a 12 wastegate housing? I figure im gonna have to do more fab due to the Excursions tight quarters and the rear A/C lines etc
Thanks
Deo

Deo- I use COURVILLES in Montville,CT. 860-848-1221 most of the time. They dont rebuild but they know who does. I know there not local to you but they are closer than Texas. There is a Cummins right in Hartford,CT. I would try a google search for your area and then go by recommendations from shops from there.
As far as housings go... with the external gate, the choice is yours really, if the gate works/flows well enough the only issue would be tuning to get surge/shudder under control.
The 32 may work with the 50 on top. I ran a 40/3b with a 32 and it was fine on top end and that 50 will drive the primary even harder. it will also lower drive pressure and that is a good thing.

this is from quickserve online
Turbocharger Model: Hy35W
Alt. Support Provision: No
HP Limitation (<HP): None
Manifold Style: 1 Piece Base
Turbocharger ID17 Number:
3599810, 3599372, 3598553
Transmission Type: Manual
the number he has on the turbo is the number for a common rail hy35w
even though its identical to the he351, Im kind of surprised, I looked it up to send him and was pretty surprised

No, but I couldn't get up my friends driveway. Too much ice. And then a 30mph drive home in the snow was interesting.
