crossmember progression...

Bad thing is I painted the driveshafts and went to bolt em in..argh. Now I have to shorten the rear and lengthen the front.. maybe 2-3 inches.. lucky teh rear shaft is one piece....any body know of a GOOD shop that will do it around here?.. also I want to get the angles measured and correct etc.. I noticed the engine / drive line has a small passenger side tilt to it..its been like that before, but I want to measure the angles..only issue is I plan on dropping it down to a 4" lift from 8" and I think the angles & driveshaft lengths may change too..so I guess I'll be investing in a set of 4" springs now before I can do the driveshafts..argh.. it goes on and on and on..haha

Isn't that Connecticut Driveshaft as well? I thought that's where it was until I looked it up for him, that's why I told him to call

my truck seems to blow out valve cover gaskets everytime I tow my trailer Think it could be caused by crankcase pressure? Might be time to get one of those fishtank breathers Truck doesnt do it when im just running around put the second you put a good load on it they start spewing oil

Buddy of mine in Indiana has 2 of the Case type he's selling. $100 a cover complete, new, never used. 1 replaces 2 of the regular ones. Pretty cool.

are ya tightening them too much? and when they get hot they split? is it the same ones? maybe some sharp edges on the covers from when ya got them coated? never really hear of the valve cover gaskets blowing out.

well, I want to kill the guy who designed the aero superduty headlight removal process...ha..those stupid pullup tabs suck ,, and the really bad part is the little black part on the bottom with the two push in ears..how the heck to guys squeeze those tabs in ?..I got the passenger side ok, but the drivers side was a real beeeatch..I even had the inner fender liner out too..ha..I don't think I could have done it without the inner fender liner removed..due to the batteries etc etc...argh..any one know a junk yard with a xl stripped superduty nose? its the nose with the black plastic with the regular rectangular sealed beams? ha.... I removed the whole front today to do the crank seal, check the kdp, and degrease & prep for paint etc etc... I found the kdp was already tabbed the gears are all meshed at the right depth, and the cam is a bolt on gear style... mummn maybe it has a different cam or a marine cam etc?....I did ALOT of degreasing argh ..only have to finish under the crossmember, back of crossmember, outer frame rails, and the axle. I also nicked the new front crank seal's yellow lip on install so its gonna come out and I'll get another new one tommorrow.. more $ haha... I don't under stand how the previous owner didn't degresae and paint the front end when he built it? and if he did how it could leak that much oil from a messed up front crankseal? I did notice the old seals lip was Fubared and 99% sure that was the source of the oil ...
oh well it will be nice when cleaned and repainted etc...

deo front yellow lip is just a dust seal IIRC, Looks like they didnt use the plastic installer that comes with the seal to prevent it from rolling over. Install that seal dry, and the metal ring that comes with the seal kit is the depth installer tool if ya didnt already know. Looks like a F1 diesel retainer to me. Prob a helix cam.
Mark the starter contact kit isnt bad to do. if im around sat post up what time you will be there ill stop by.

Thanks, I really need a hand with this. I am having a hard time with vertigo lately... I can't lay on my back or lean over to work on something without getting dizzy and feeling like I am going to pass out...
