I must be sooo lucky with my wife and kids...ha i hear tons of horror stories..oh well....my wife is a and she used to sleep in the bed of the truck, or in the cramped reg cab with me when we went to diesel drags or truck pulls ha.. now the only issue is the kids get tired tons of walking etc ..like in Englishtown.. the VA show in petersburg VA etc etc...or bored ..we'll see .......definately my dad and I'm hoping several of my diesel friends ar going to go.

Hey Pete, I can break down my dog run (12x6) and set it up for ya. You can lock up the kids or wife in there while you have a good time

Thanks guys! I don't wanna listen to the wife bitch, and she probably has to work anyways, so I'll just bring the kids. As long as somebody throws a chicken bone or juice box over the fence once in a while they'll be fine.

I'm not sure on that. A little of both I think!
I kinda settled when I met the wife, a mutual friend hooked us up. We seemed to have more in common then, now she doesn't like truck stuff, and seems to be more into other things. I worry about paying the bills, and she worries about spending it on what ever she wants.
All right, back on topic!

If I don't go home on friday I'll just go to your house on sunday. I might live longer that way. Until she goes to Salem for Halloween and happens to see my truck.

Jim,
Is this going to be the same setup as last year? $20 per person? I also guess that I should start figuring out what to bring this year....

Id like to get it down to nothin per person. That would require people to bring everything we have provided in the past as their "donation". Still the event is based on pure Pot luck so to get all the condiments, plates, sodas, etc and still have enough food to satisfy everyone is making me wonder if thats possible. Ill brainstorm a little and get back with an official post. Im thinking maybe do a spreadsheet like they did in the past for fall brawl to associate a name with what they are bringing so we have it all organized ahead of time and no guessing come game day.
Thanks

That would be nice, but honestly, I realize that I cannot go somewhere and for $20 eat such a vast array of delicious food and drink. I don't mind pitching in for that, even bringing some food. But I would also be willing to put that money towards incidentals as well. Spread sheet was a good idea, I'm not sure why we got away from that format for Fall Brawl/Spring Fling.
Anywho, I'll be happy to contribute however it's needed.

Thanks!

sounds like a good plan Jim, and I agree with Ted.

Some sort of list of the "essentials" that people can claim to bring as well as possibly some Pot luck and such seems like it would be a good idea. Try and make it a bit easier on our hosts, the $20 still seems fine, certainly cheaper than a night out at Applebee's lol

Looking forward to getting back to Derby

Hey guys - spreadsheet seems like a great idea so you don't have 5 guys bringing the same food.

Having planned a few gatherings in the past (on much smaller scale), having random people bringing the condiments, plates, napkins, plastic utensils, etc tends to be problematic. The issue we had was life gets in the way and inevitably, the one who was going to bring the essential something or other is running late. Then you have food and no plates, etc. Just a thought.

I agree too that $20 isn't bad at all considering what is there for food and drink.

It appears that I'll be coming into some pallets for the next few days/weeks, so I'll cut them up and bring them down for the burn barrel I also I now know how to order even bigger grinders then the ones I had last yr so I'll have a couple of those with me as well
