Default The Official 6th annual SEEfood challenge!

It's official gang the 6th Annual SEEfood Challenge is here! In 6 years ALOT has happened ALOT of change , ALOT of trucks, ALOT of fun ... And there ain' No turnin' back now so LET'S EAT! The event has changed or "Morphed" if you will from an actual SeaFood thang that started with "Ill bring the Lobstah" (Famous words from 98Rammer) To the SEEfood Challenge that you see today. Kind of a celebratory way of kicking back and signing off for a bit.

The Challenge ... well like making fat Tuesday look like Thin Thursday, and has become one of the best times had in the N.E. It has gotten to the point that it has spawned off it's own new trend "The Day after" which is an extra day left over for either relaxing or finishing up wrenchin, or to grab a good nite's sleep before drivin home. Either way Bacon , eggs , and sausage is usually on hand with champagne and orange juice to greet ya. Or if needed plenty of excedrin , advil , or tylenol is on hand.

The menu has allways been quite extensive including foods from nearly all walks of life. Including lobstah , steamers , chowdahs , steaks , ribs , kabobs , chilli , jemboliah , pizza's , corn , fried turkey , marinaded prtabellas , Shredded Pork bbq , Spanish - Fried and Tomato Rices , SOS , Soups , Pastas , Jamaccan Patties , Fried Turkey, Cookies , Burgers , Dogs , Corn , Breads , Cakes and the list goes on and I know there is waaay more.

If you make a dish that can WOW someone bring it , if not bring it anyhow. Canned goods are also needed as the BSA will be getting a visit from us when they come arround. Bring some tools, maybee a fold up chair or two as there is allways a wrench or ratchet spinning somewhere at any given moment during this thang and most importantly bring yourselves and family too along with a good healthy apetite Oo.

Plenty of parking and to keep the landlord happy no burnouts. There are hotels (Courtyard and Marriott and the Ramada) which are less than 10 minutes away from the shop.

As allways $10.00 per person ($15.00 per couple and Kids allways free) ALL Proceeds go twards charrities in dire need at the time of the event. Bring whtever beverage gets your tastebuds going! So here we go, and I for one cannot WAIT to catch up with everyone!!!

The Sixth Annual SEEfood Challenge

Saturday Octobet 6th 2007

FROM NORTH OR SOUTH ON ROUTE 8

"Exit 15 CT-34 Derby"

Turn Right At End Of Ramp

1/10th Of A Mile And Keep To The Left

You will see TAILGATORS on the left at this point while you are at the light.

Turn Left On CT-115, Derby Ave And Go North For 0.6 Miles to 326 Derby Ave

Driveway Is Just After An Empty Lot And Between Two Brick Buildings On The Left.

Make sure to keep tabs on this thread (In classic N.E Fashion) on the Challenge and it's followup. Last mnute changes and laughs are allways a few keystrokes away.

If I'm there, there'll be plenty of blueberry ale, like a keg... If not, the whole back will be filled with growlers.. does this make me a "runner"?

No, having a 12V makes you a runner. If you had a 24 valve you'd be a walker

It's getting closer!

So, I have a couple questions about the event-- I was telling my family tonight that I wanted to go to this event, and they are all in for it too. So, anyone coming to SeEf00d, can meet the people whom have to put up with me day-in-day-out.

So, my questions are: Is it really family oriented? I know it said so, but just wondering. (Ya know I'm not really family oriented a lot of the time but I do make do. )
Are there any places close by to camp? If not, is Milford the closest place with Hotels?

Lastly, what can I bring? I'd like to make non-stop beer can chicken for everyone, figure 5 to 6 birds (that's like 9 hrs of continuous chicken.. LOL) Do I need to bring a grill or what? Oh yea, I'll also bring some blueberry, will look into getting a Keg if you think there's enough people coming.

My wife is taking more interest in my diesel associated hobbies- get this, two nights ago she sees a dakota while at a baseball game, she says, "That's cute, I"d drive that, can you get one that small with a diesel engine?" OH YEA!
latr dudes.

Yes, wives, kids are welcome! There will be a few kids and wives around.

Milford, or Shelton would be the closest for hotels.

What kind of camping? Trailer? Tent?

Sprawled out shirtfaced in the bed of your truck!

Sorry guys, not this year! My wife was unhappy about dyno day today. Next summer I think I can cut loose and come down to meet and visit. Hopefully she'll be more understanding then. She gets more diesel everyday, but it's a slow process.
(I did catch her muttering about how she wanted to smoke somebody)

No doubt, without family I'd be in the bed of the truck... So, we'll see.

Re: camping, like tent. We haven't upgraded to a trailer just yet.

Pete, how'd dyno day go, inspite of the unhappy wife?

Let me talk to the guy who owns the marina where we leave the boat. Maybe he'll let you "pitch a tent"

If I see him tomorrow or Monday I'll ask.

The marina is only 5 minutes from the shop.
